Screencap Adventure: Soul Blazer (Part 14)

Feb 11, 2009 22:22

I've been prodded back into considering anime and manga lately, by various people. In the interests of Because I Feel Like It, here's a quick rundown:

Axis Powers Hetalia: Fun and amusing, but kinda pointless. The fandom is extremely batshit for such a silly little comic. Needs more Australia.
Ghost Hunt: Interesting, and I like Mai, but too much ( Read more... )

things: let's play, fandom: soul blazer

...What started the trend of the final battle/dungeon having a weird cosmic background? It's cool, but kind of old hat by now...

Your guess is as good as mine. I'm just having trouble how a shiny starry background correlates with Evil in any way.

I think that it's not so meant to represent evil as much is it is to represent the fact that your opponent is apparently powerful enough to create their own dimensional space in which to fight you.

This whole Macguffin hunt made me crave for muffins.... D:

Not much for being THE World of EVIL.
I mean, it seems a bit small... in fact, it doesn't seem so bad if it wasn't for the purple gargoyles who wish to kill you.. or do they? :O
They might be as much of a victim as all the others are. Like the kings guards, they must do their job or be punished.. and so they can feed their little spawns at home.
... now I'm reminded of the mooks in the Austin Powers films... D:

I never understood Death Toll's motivation for collecting souls anyway.. or anyone's at that.
But I'm human after all, so what do I know.

Speaking of final levels.
I want to see a final level play out on a long beach with only the sound of the waves hitting the sand as the background music... Or has that been done already?

Yeah, it's not much of a World of Evil, is it? Aside from the things trying to kill you - which basically everywhere has - it's just a sort of freaky space void.

Well, this is a SNES game. I believe his motivation was Because He's Evil.

W-well. The final level is set on a rocky cliff that could be on a beach?

What are the first- and second-weirdest worlds of evil you've seen, then?

Earthbound (either Moonside or Giygas' lair) and Yume Nikki. Mother 3's right up there, too.

Nice screencaps. I personally love SN:SCS2, but nobody else knows about it. :(

This is for doing the screencappery for it! Hope you haven't seen it yet.

Hey, thanks! I've already seen that one - oh god Oldbag in bondage whyyyy - but I appreciate the sentiment all the same!

There really does need to be more love for Swordcraft Story 2. It's such a fun romp!
