Seriously, why does this keep happening in RPGs? I applaud the villains for letting the heroes do the work for them, but surely you could just steal the Shiny Things while they're asleep instead of taking them head-on?

Sure, dude. We're Level 41.
Especially if we have to fight you! What kind of hero would just say "Well, okay, take 'em. WTFever."

Gabriel runs in and SLASHES RYOUGA RIGHT ACROSS THE BACK. It's awesome. 8D
Then Ryouga proceeds to BITCHSLAP GABRIEL RIGHT ACROSS THE ROOM. Also awesome. 8D
Hey, Xeride! You're okay! :D
BATTLE!
Ryouga is actually moderately easy. He works a lot like a combination of the Orin and Kohina battles; fast, with that big claw thing acting as a fist weapon, and rather weak. I'm sure he's only this easy because he's 'injured'. Not because the game needed a battle here. Of course not.
Of course, things are made a lot easier because those ninjas put me in no mood for bastard bosses. So I went for the Mono Shift pretty quick.
It ended quickly.
"C'mon, man. Multiple-form bosses are so overdone."
And Ryouga PUNCHES GARRULON IN THE FACE
Sending him FLYING ACROSS THE ARENA
And the last Daemon Edge goes FLYING OUT OF REACH
CAPITAL LETTERS TO DENOTE HIGH LEVELS OF AWESOME
"I punched the only person who still cares about me in the face with my huge demon claw. Why don't I feel fulfilled?"
Gabriel runs in and grabs the sword.
"Stealing from others is wrong! >( "
"That power of friendship shtick is so overdone!"
OH GOD
HE'S GOING SUPER SAIYAN LEVEL 2
EVERYONE DOWN
IN TIMES OF GREAT STRESS
A MYSTERIOUS POWER COMES FORTH
MONO SHIIIIIIIIIFT
...And then everything goes white.
"They were voted 'Most Likely to be Paired Together' at graduation."

Yeegh. Another line for the Dubious Fanfiction pile... *shudder*
And they're gone.
