Lana'd taken to wandering by room 306 randomly a couple of times a day. Just to see, you know?

Lana came in and just took a moment to stand and drink him in. "You're home," she said with a smile. "God, I'm glad to see you."

She crossed towards him slowly. "Anything I can do to help," she asked, reaching out to touch his arm lightly - if he'd let her.

He didn't pull away, but he didn't move closer either. "Not really," he said. "It's just... family stuff that I have to deal with."

He felt vaguely uncomfortable talking to Lana about it given her own family situation.

She bit her lip, hesitating, then decided it couldn't hurt to be honest. "Chris," she said gently. "I love you. You wouldn't be dumping anything on me. I'd be glad to listen. But if you need your space, I'm also glad to leave. Or just sit her quietly with you. Or whatever you need."
