Bill Clinton interview on Fox News

Sep 25, 2006 11:38

If you haven't seen it already, you should check out the Bill Clinton interview for Fox News Sunday. Silly Chris Wallace, you actually expected Bill Clinton would just roll over and accept your loaded question?

"Gee, an interview with Fox News, I wonder if they're going to try to put me in a bad light. Naaaaah."

He later acts as if his question was perfectly reasonable... the "It was just a question" routine.

I want to smack him.

(And... I wonder if he still beats his wife? Maybe someone should ask him...)

Or better yet: "Why don't you put more effort into your journalistic integrity?"

What sort of answer could the question "why didn’t you do more to put bin Laden and Al Qaida out of business when you were president" truly elicit? Was he really expecting to learn something?

He's commenting today that he was surprised by Bill's outburst, but the question was really just an attack, so how did he really expect him to react?

Fox needs to learn to only allow weak-kneed liberals that will roll over and try to be nice on their shows. If they bring people like Bill Clinton on they should know better than expect him to submit to such a dishonest question.

FYI the videos have been taken off YouTube because they were allegedly 'used without permission'.

Added Google (which will presumably also be yanked) and a link to the Boston Fox affiliate's version.

One wonders whether Fox is trying to pull the videos to retain advertising rights or in order to make sure they are only presented with the "correct" lead-ins and commentary.

That is a perfectly reasonable question to ask, and Bubba's obviously touchy about the subject because he knows he failed miserably, and his legacy is the cigar, the blue dress, and how he failed to get Bin Laden before he attacked us.

Uh-huh. And about the point that the Republicans never get asked these questions? Even though they had more time, more information, and more of a chance to do anything about it?

Damn straight, he's touchy. He knows that if he had pulled HALF the shit Shrub's pulled he'd have been out on his ass before hte end of his first term. It's a double standard.

Just out of curiousity, what do you believe bubba's legacy will be? What will he be remembered for 20-30 years down the road?

Depends. When I'm feeling charitable I'd say Bill managed a robost economy and had great relations with the rest of the world. When I'm feeling uncharitable, I would say that he'll be best remembered for the Lewinsky idiocy. When I'm feeling really uncharitable, I'd say the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.

Regardless, though, I'm willing to bet that history will be kinder to him than to George W. George W will be remembered as a man who had the support of the entire country and instead turned himself in Joe McCarthy.

I had heard about this earlier today and wanted to see it, so thanks. I echo the "Clint0wned!" response... he wrecked Chris Wallace. He made him look a fool and the best part is that the day before he raised $7.3 billion dollars for charitable purposes. Two satisfying facts.
