I like bugs too - well, most bugs, Invasive species I can do without. LOL.
I do like photographing them too; I'm getting a bit of a bug-photo collection along w/all the flowers etc.. I guess what I really like is a mix of macro photography & the kids & scenics sometimes; especially storms/stormy skies.
yeah? This one was about.. hm; 3 or 4 inches maybe? It was on a medium-large sunflower - I thought grasshopper, but it's hard to tell specifically which kind; there are so many!
It was the most likely culprit for the chewed on petals - which dissapeared shortly after, so I guess the bug either moved on, or a bird got it or something. I have a LOT of birds in my area: Yesterday I saw a few woodpeckers, a red headed finch, a few robins, some cardinals - and we've even gotten hawks & owls in the yard. =)
Oooooooh thanks!! Now I can read all about 'em. Wow. lots out there on google - thanks!
I was worrying it might be like those frightful japanese beatles that kills trees: eek. I'll study up - not much I can do now, of course, but it's always good to learn about what's going on in one's own backyard! (grin) Both literally & figuratively - so thanks, I appreciate the helpw/this one. It was rather "scary large" -
