And more about Shattered coming this fall

Canwest's Global announced a Fall 2010 programming line-up today that is heavy on scripted drama-particularly of the cop and legal variety-and includes seven new shows from U.S. television networks and one original program.

"I think we did see across all the screenings a lot of cop and legal dramas, and a few medical dramas, so some of the staples of prime time drama for sure," said executive vice-president, content for Canwest Broadcasting Barbara Williams, ahead of the official preview event in Toronto this afternoon. "We were happy to pick up a few of those we thought looked particularly good, but we did try to look beyond that [genre] as well."

The only original new program in the line-up is the drama Shattered that will air on Friday nights and stars Callum Keith Rennie, Camille Sullivan and Molly Parker. Rennie and Parker are coming off rather impressive, critically acclaimed supporting roles in the U.S., Rennie on shows like Californication, 24, and Battlestar Gallactica, and Parker on HBO's Deadwood. The show follows a homicide detective (Rennie) struggling with multiple personality disorder.

"One of the things that makes Shattered such a wonderful series is the two lead actors who've had outstanding careers on both sides of the border, and it's great to have them together in a great new Canadian series," said Williams.
