I don't blame you. I'd feel horrible if I had the kind of job where I couldn't keep busy--and the time goes faster that way. I guess pick whatever would be of long term benefit. If you're really going back to school, then in some ways what you have is a dream job. Because instead of using that time to watch Netflix and surf, you can use it to do those math problems!

In other news my doctor has decided she wants to try and kill me by prescribing me Metformin. I haven't had anything good and fulfilling to eat in about two weeks due to the, uh, side-effects of the drug. But, hey, starvation does work as a weight loss option, amirite?

*winces* I feel your pain!

*points up* What she said. If school is a plan for the near future, then keep the job you have. On the other hand, the immediate $2/hr raise might be more worthwhile than hanging on for two years and chasing the possibility of a salary, especially if you are undecided on school or not planning on going back for a while.

Urgh. For all my whinging about being stressed at work, I think I'd go nuts if I thought my brain was atrophying. x-/

If you really are planning to take classes again in the near future, then this job sounds like it'd be helpful with the potential studying time it affords you. On the other hand, working the Help Desk might give you more visibility and opportunities for advancement into other areas (or it could just take advantage of your problem-solving brain and not give back enough to make it worthwhile...)

On the bright side, it sounds like at least you're looking at a choice between two pretty good jobs. That's not a bad problem to have! xD

And yee, Metformin sounds like tons of fun (not!) xP
