So I'm looking at the new pix of Randy Harrison as he prepares for his Amadeus stint in the Berkshires and it strikes me that he really does remind me of River Phoenix.

Mmm, wonderful pics! There are two of Randy that I hadn't seen yet, so thanks for sharing these. ;)

(I'm also a fan of River Phoenix, especially My Own Private Idaho.)

as for the brooding young man pics.

look hard enough you'll find them of johnny depp, jason priestly, chad michael murray, Michael J. Fox, that kid from that show, and that other kid from that other show, and a whole bunch of other pretty pretty men who look like boys and have been on the cover of magazines like BOP! and Tiger Beat (um, not sure randy's actually been on those but the others have)

yeah, you're right that there probably are a bunch of hot young guys out there with the same brooding pose, but take a look at what sleepwalkerfish put in the comments for this thread.

She really found the right photos for comparision - especially the My Own Private Idaho and the Rage stills. So much better than my pathetic choices.

BTW, I had been happily unaware of BOP. After looking at the website I think I was having a bad acid flashback to 1969.

oh i'm not wishing BOP! on anyone, i'm just saying that first they get those pretty happy pictured of them in bop and teen beat and tiger beat

and then they want to be a "serious actor" and do some broody poses and that's why david cassidy lost his fanbase in 1972 (he was brooding naked but it's the general idea) and randy's broody pics are probably as much a reaction to his image as "justin" as the broody smoking a cigarette, on a dirty street, neediing a shower, pics of um... all the other pretty young boys are a reaction to ever having to see themselves on the cover of BOP!

and i'm sorry i just can't write it without the !!!!'s

oh and in no way a dig, cause river pheonix is the only person i don't know whose death moved me.
