I have decided that I'm religious

the more I look at the prinicples and beliefs of secular humanism and existentialist ideas, the more I wonder how anyone could have worded the mysteries of the world into EXACTLY how I understand and perceive everything. how could anyone create religious beliefs so absolutely perfect for myself? it's as if they extracted the ideas right from my ( Read more... )

I know exactly what you mean when you wish "religious" didn't have such particular "organized religion" ties. I consider myself religious in my own personal choices, but I can't exactly say that without someone thinking I was a strict Christian.

Hey -- be religious all you want! I like seeing people worship what they believe, and not take for granted as true what they've been forced to worship since before they can remember. (Non-conformity is one of the key ideas of transcendentialism, and I've recently been coming to terms with the fact that that particular way of thinking closely mirrors mine... it's kind of a weird thing, to find people who can summarize what you've thought since birth but never had the guts to try and say.)
