too long. did not pass the driver's test - I can't parallel park to save my life. still, it was fun and educational and I will take it again... when I stop being a coward

Well, if it makes you feel better, my mom has been driving for 40 years and still can't parallel park. She won't listen to me on how to do it either. Stubborn as a mule that one!
Pull ALL the way next to the car in front of you so you are directly parallel to it. Then, put it in reverse, and cut the wheel ALL the way to the right and back up. When you are reaching the curb with your back tire, keep backing up and cut the wheel all the way to the left. All this you do as you're backing up. Then, slide it right in. Voila! Three steps!
