Summary:  Jared and his daughter Hannah are used to depending only on each other.  Their life at the cabin on the lake isn’t exciting, but it’s safe.  Until the night Hannah goes outside, drawn by the soft sounds of a guitar.  While Jared is drawn to the music, the guitar player is too close for comfort.

But something in the music inexorably attracts Jared and his little girl, and they finally reach out to their new neighbor.  Jensen seems like the perfect guy, and he is the perfect guy.  But like Jared, he has secrets to keep and reasons not to trust.  Can they move beyond their pasts to make a life together, beyond the isolated shores of the lake?

Author's Notes/Disclaimer:  "New Life in Old Mexico" song and lyrics by Robert Earl Keen.
