I. Hate. Christmas. It's as if a collective stupidity overtakes the general populace who then proceed to go ballistic by buying crap people don't want and certainly don't need.

I know! What could be more awful than people stopping being so self-centered for 1 month a year and actually giving to others instead of always wanting everything for themselves!? Truly awful.

My solution is that we only have Christmas once every four years, like the Olympics.
That way we'd appreciated it (maybe) when it came, and we could get on with our lives for the other three years! Apparently the entire enconomy of the Western world depends on the annual retail-fest that is Chrimbo, so it's not likely to happen. (in fact, what's more likely to happen is that they decide to hold the Olympics every year....)

I know how you feel. Most of the time I don't mind Christmas, but this year - not so much. The holidays appear to be this vast conspiracy to make those of us on our own feel even more isolated and alone.

I was never much of a Scrooge before, but this year I agree with the "Bah, humbug!" sentiment.
