"the defendant" did not show up on thursday morning (because he's a very busy man), but he phoned the deputy labor commissioner ahead of time to make his generous offer, which turned out to be a quarter of what i'm entitled to.  i did not accept it.  we are going to a hearing.
the arrogance astounds me.

so, who remembers the business with my former boss not paying me when he was legally obligated to, and me asking for more money from him as a result?  the dept of labor standards enforcement has scheduled our conference for thursday morning.
i'm a little nervous.  not a lot, just a little.

me: Michael Caine?
Mike: sitting next to you.

sometimes i say really dumb things to disabled children who are trying to learn language.

aw.  the croc hunter died.  that's sad for his family.  does anyone else think it's a little amusing, though, that he died because he got too close to a creature while filming "Ocean's Deadliest?"  no?  ok, then.  i'm going to hell.

what can i say about snakes on a plane?  it was the most fun i've had at a movie in a long time.  and going with 12 people, and being surrounded by loud smartasses only made it better.  my favorite part was, before the movie started, the words "the science of sound" came on the screen (the THX ad), and mike said, "the science of snakes!" and i said ( Read more... )

one of my 2-year-old clients was jumping on the couch and fell, face first, into the coffee table.  he cut his lip and there was lots of blood.  so i returned him to his mother who promptly cleaned him up.  i stayed with them for a minute and then realized i had to go wrap up the session.  so i told her, "well, the child is bleeding and screaming ( Read more... )
