Yule Con indecision.....

Nov 17, 2008 09:36

I have so much organizing to do before Yule con. Since I will have a vastly smaller space I have to think carefully about what I intend to bring. I will most likely focus less on the dolls and more on their accessories, clothes, etc. From what I understand there won't be any back table room either. Ewww! How am I going to manage?

It's a possibility but we'll need to speak more directly than here.

I am about to go on vacation for a week and I never know when and if I will have access to internet when I am with my family so don't freak out if it takes me a bit to respond.....

yulecon is starting to frazzle me. I keep getting hounded for when the doll panel is going to be only to keep shooting off emails and keep getting told "we'll let you know soon".... it definitly doesn't inspire me to work on the presentation. I really hope your table situation isn't too bad, but from what I know of artist alley tables, you're looking at your table and whatever you can put under it for spacing. I'd say with that aspect focus a tad more on the accessory stuff but definitly bring some. Maybe just not bring multiples of the same sculpt

I would suggest that you just make the plans to have the kind of panel you want to have. It is a first year con and there is always a learning curve. James is a good guy and I am sure you are not the only one that is looking to firm up panel times etc... As for dolls, I think I am only going to bring a couple that I have but done as a full set. And then the accessories that I have. I will be able to set up my 'cubes' so I can expand upwards at least. And I will be bring some of my jewelry. It is the picking and choosing that will be a pain.

*nod nod* the full set idea sounds good. I'd been meaning to pitch an idea at you sometime in the future to see if I could get a blank doll from you to work with, do faceup and make clothes and then put together a wig and shoes from what you sell to see if it would be a hit or not....

The only thing that has kept me from doing this previously was the lack of clothing. Now that I have a couple of sources it will be easier to this. I don't tend to get dolls without a face-up since this is an area I am not comfortable doing yet...however, we can talk about this. I would have to be able to display it as a special OOAK face-up or limited face-up by a specific artist (you just let me know how you want to be known--real name, DOA or livejournal name) as opposed to a default Bobobie face-up.
