Grr, being without internets SUCKS! I spent the last five day sin my boyfriend's new apartment and have been totally cut off. He doesn't have either telephone or internet yet. I am one of those individuals who still only has a prepaid cell phone plus I really don't like talking on the cell. I always feel like getting on a normal phone would be ( Read more... )

All those cravings . . . are you sure you're not pregnant??

;-)

I would lose my mind without Internet. It is how I keep up with my friends, it's how I read the news, it's how I deal with boredom . . . seriously, I'd lose my mind! Now that I have an iPhone, I'm even checking my email in the grocery store. I'm addicted.

Sorry the job hunt and roomie situation isn't going well. I hope it gets better soon!

As sure as I can be. Why do you think I mentioned my period earlier? :D

Thanks, it's just weird that his life moves on and I am still stuck in the same situation. It seriously needs to change!

And yeah, I wanted to google something every five minutes and it drove me crazy not being able to! I knew it was just for a few days but it made me realize how little you can do without the internet. Try finding out an address, or the opening hours of a store or when the trains go.
How did people manage?!?!?!

I don't know how we managed without the Internet! I can remember as a kid, if you heard a song on the radio that you liked you either had to keep listening to the radio, constantly changing stations (which meant turning a dial and not just pushing a button) in the hope of hearing it again, or you had to go buy the record (on vinyl). And if you wanted to see the video you had to stay up until midnight on Friday to watch Friday Night Videos and just hope it was on (because MTV didn't exist yet).

Now you can just go to YouTube to watch the video and you can buy the song - just the one song - on iTunes! I can't tell you how many albums, and later CD's, I bought just for one song and then hated every other song on the album/disk. What a waste of money!

The only thing I think I would like about not having internet for a few days would be getting caught up on my reading. I don't read near as much as I would like. I get too distracted by the computer!

I hated the music-thing!!!!! You had to listen to the lyrics and try to catcth name if the dj even said in on air. If not, you were screwed! I think it was harder on us non-english speakers because it was even harder to find out a name of a song. I remember all the things I assumed people were singing in lyrics - hilarious! My english was so bad and lyrics were such an elusive thing! :)

Good to see you around. We should be talking! Have an appointment at the hairdresser's tomorrow... No idea what we'll do.
