Oh, I so sympathize - until today, I thought I was going to have to be in TEXAS during Pride celebration next weekend. Let me say that again: T-E-X-A-S. During San Francisco Pride. Granted, I still have to miss a huge portion of Pride week, but at least I have the weekend in SF. I'm flying into SFO Friday night, and I have to drive straight into SF to catch a film festival movie, for which I will be late. *scowl*

Hey Sharon - yikes, sorry. I thought it was coming up, but didn't realize it was so soon. The problem is that the computer on which I keep all my music had its hard drive give out - AGAIN. So, I have almost no songs for 120 - do either you or Cael have most of them?
BUT OMG *CONVULSES* CITY LIGHTS!! Well, they really are. City Lights was started by Lawrence Ferlinghetti and others of the Beat Era who wanted to promote innovation and to an extent, liberalism. I AM SO JEALOUS. I love the Beats, and the fact that you passed by.. !! You definitely should go in sometime :>

Thank you very much for your kind comment left here. I'm sorry for what you went through - that manager sounds like a nutcase! What's interesting (and depressing) is how common this scenario is, no matter the fandom.
you have to understand that the people you've left in charge of the site are going to take steps to try to manage it in your absence, so as not to let down members.That's exactly what was so mind-boggling. Without the contributions of authors and artists, there wouldn't have been an archive, so of course people deserved the courtesy of being told what was going on. I didn't understand what was so terrible about the two of us trying to do the best we could to keep people informed and keep the site going
