I am semi-Italian lol, but I am familiar with the language (thought I DID go look at the lyrics you posted) -- I studied it for a while and spent a semester over in Florence. As for listening to songs in a different language - sometimes the lyrics don't have to be understood for the song to be liked (at least not at first). It's the tone and the melody of the song that usually attracts people in the beginning, so while the listener may be kind of in the dark about what the song is actually saying, they can still like it for the mood it emotes.
So, yeah -- that was just my long winded version of saying italian songs sound the same as any other songs - just in a different language lol.
