I keep thinking that, too: these megachurches and so man Xians in the US are just...play acting. Cosplay Xians. Because at heart, they seem to have not absorbed one bit of the teachings they're supposed to live by.

I was brought up a Lutheran (very laid back Catholics, basically, without all the saints and guilt), and could never really do that 'leap of faith' thing and just...believe. I've been an atheist since I was a teen.

We met up with an old, old friend of my ex-SO's years ago, and he had gone from hard-core snake-handling bible-thumper to a pagan. He gave us lots of books, talked to us about it, and we just...really felt like it was the right thing.

Now, I still don't believe in deities of any kind, but the living earth, the cycle of the seasons, the energy that is the seed that become the wheat, the bread, and the life? Hell, yeah. I acknowledge the sabbats and enjoy the candy and all in all...feel like it works. :D

So hell yeah - have eggs, have candy, dress up like a bunny - it's Spring!
