How do you write? Do you outline ahead or fly by the seat of your pants? Laura Anne Gilman has a great post up over at Fangs, Fur, & Fey regarding her writing process. That is great advice. I had no idea that a publisher would ask for an outline, but now I feel silly because it makes so much sense. I never used to be an outline kind of writer until I attended a retreat and my instructor made us write one. When I wrote it I found several issues with my manuscript that I was able to fix. I'm a firm believer now and after reading your blog I'm glad I am! -- HeatherM

Great advice. I'm a seat of the pants writer on the first draft, then I get into the gritty business of fleshing out the characters and then do a chapter by chapter outline. It helps make the the story flow....
