Attention all YA writers:In honor of the time of year, I'm am issuing a special, short-term invitation for YA authors to query me directly through this journal, on this thread. That means, you get to post a query to this thread for whatever YA project you want represented. You get to bypass the traditional Knight Agency submissions process and I ( Read more... )

I wondered if I could ask a question about this generous YA novel submission offer? I actually queried the Knight Agency (and I think I addressed it to you, Nephele, as I've seen your posts on Codex) back 5/28/07 with a YA novel and haven't heard yet. Would it be okay to query through your journal at the same time?
Thanks either way.

It sounds like your original query probably went astray in cyberspace, as even with the busy summer schedule, we're no where near this backed up replying at the query stage. So, feel free to query again here, and remember to include your e-mail address so I can contact you off the thread. When I respond to you, it reveals your initial post and you lose the anonimity. (So make sure you post your query as a response to my original post, and not to this thread, or it will show up for everyone.) Thanks for your question!

I had the same question. I queried you back in June on my YA paranormal. Can I query here?

Same answer. Though folks, if you've queried the agency months ago and heard nothing, you really should be following up there to make sure your query was received. We rarely take more that four-to-six weeks on queries, and generally it's much faster.

Do you mean you want the query with our personal info posted here in this comment section, or sent to you privately in some way?

Nephele, do you mind if other blogs are notified about this exceptional opportunity?

YA means girls? Yes? anonymous September 10 2007, 00:56:06 UTC
I'm finding that when agents say YA, they mean girls YA, not boys. Am I right in assuming this is the case for you?

Thanks,

No. All YA fiction means all YA fiction. And I don't believe all books are either for boys or for girls...
