Anyone able to leave their Animal Crossing town gate open tonight, so we can come get one or more axes? We're trying to build a stockpile until such time as we can acquire a Golden Axe. We'll also leave ours open so you can come visit (and hopefully drop one off ( Read more... )

My town has been perpetually open since we last played, so you can drop by anytime you need to. I don't know what's up with the money trees in this one. I plated 2k bells and while I DID in fact get a tree to grow out of it, it only dropped 100 bells each time I shook it. I had thought the more money you plant the more it would drop. I guess I was wrong...or I'm missing something, I don't know. At any rate, if that's all it is, you're probably better off (speaking from a purely financial standpoint anyway) of just planting another non native fruit tree.

Now what in the world do you need all the axes for? I have had the same axe since I started the game. I know they break with repeated use, but wholly crap man...you doing a slash and burn operation?!

THe money tree thing: THat is all dependant on your town. You of course have to have the golden shovel, but your town also has to be in tip top pelly shape. Check with her and make your town perfect. Once you do, then go plant some bell trees. The better your town the better chance you will have at getting money bags of the amount you buried.

that guys faq is wrong about the bells too I believe. If memory serves, it takes a week for a tree of bells to sprout the 3 bags. Every time you pick them it takes another week for another set.

Oh, cool, so it grows MORE? Well, that's totally worth it then, even if it takes a few tries.

Re: the axe: trees are more likely to grow if you cut down another tree and plant the new one where the old stood. I have a 100% success rate so far, in fact. Useful if you're growing foreign fruit, or hopefully, money trees.
