next summer, I am being encouraged to audition for the exchange program with the British American Drama Academy. this would mean spending between a semester and a full academic year doing theater in London. if I go for the year-long program, I would be eligable to take master-classes, instructed by Dame Judi Dench and others like her. I'll tell you why: because it's fucking terrifying, the prospect of living overseas for that long & studying anything, much less theater, which is the most vulnerable-making of any study you could do.
I've discovered, though, that at least for me, there are two kinds of terrifying I run up against: one is the one that tells me No, Don't Do This, This is Not Going To Turn Out Well. And the other is the kind of terrifying that says Ok, Yes, You're Scared, But Hot Damn Lady This Is Going To Change Your Life & You Know You'll Regret It If You Don't Do It.

Only you can really tell which terrifying anything is. It's totally personal. As an outsider, I second what people have said, that you should probably audition anyway because the expeience of doing that will be good. And I'll offer my study-abroad support should you decide to go. (Personally I am of the opinion that studyabroad should be embarked on, because it really is incredible; but that's my two cents.)
