Things are definitely looking up for Gracie. Dr. Jones has lowered her Pheno dose down to 2.5 cc's. She's more active, more alert, more talkative and more herself. No seizures since she began the medicine and her hyperthyroidism is under control ( Read more... )

So yesterday morning we had all kinds of thunderstorms and a tornado about 10 miles away. and today....we have had about 5 inches of snow...in Georgia.

Dad says it's the End of Days.

Gracie hasn't had any seizure activity since the vet put her on phenobarbital (i think i'm spelling that right). She has to stay on a high dose for two weeks and then see if we can reduce it without her having any seizures.

She's groggy, but she's ok.

Yesterday Gracie had two seizures close together so we left a message with the vet. She had two more as the afternoon progressed. Dr. Jones called us back and dad talked to him for a few minutes. He said to go ahead and bring her in. He put her on an IV of anti-seizure medication and some other fluids ( Read more... )

Gracie is having more seizures. She's had four since this all started. The first time Dad witnessed one greatly upset him. The second time he saw one he had to leave the room. When she gets ill, she puts her head down and falls over to one side looks like she's swimming in slow motion. It's awful to watch but the vet said it isn't painful ( Read more... )

The vet said he wanted to keep Gracie another night to get a stool sample. I'm a frazzled nerve. I went to visit her for about an hour today. She seemed very happy to see me and was purring and trilling like a motor boat. She felt comfortable enough to eat once I got there.
