I think the dark side's more seductive than powerful, because it takes LESS power to give in and take the easy way out. It seems like it has more power over the light, but it never really lasts in the long run. (Examples include the Babylonian Empire, most boy bands, Michael Eisner, and Kate Gosselin. X3) We might not beat down "The Man" in flames and glory overnight, but we can bring up the people around us; that's as good a victory as any!
Hmm, maybe that's why I listen to Gorillaz so much these days - I think "Feel Good Inc." sums it up pretty well, if it can be summed up. |3

But yes, you're totally right. People just don't want to think or do anything nowadays. Everything seems so dumbed down, and people argue over the stupidest things. I'm going to do a study abroad program, and at orientation, they specifically told us to inform ourselves on politics because many Americans get humiliated when they go overseas and don't know how to answer the questions people ask them. So, I think a major part of the problem isn't just that bad things are getting ignored on purpose, exactly. It's that so many people are just uninformed, choosing to stay in their own little bubble and ignore the rest of the world.
