Thought it was a nice day to go for a walk, I figured I'd go for a 5K stroll to the barbershop, only to find out it is closed until next week, blah!  Other than that it was a beautiful day to get lathered in sweat because I was a dumbass and wore pants and carried a jacket, gah!

tcon was never going to cancel the masquerade. The entries have been declining year after year. They have been begging people to enter.
What kind of masquerade would it be with only 5 entries.
Something has to be done and cries of "keep it the same" will not increase the number of entries.
They were thinking of changing the format somehow to make it easier for people to enter. It is still unknown what the format will be but there will be some sort of masquerade.

Actually at the postcon meeting, Chil asked about the stories about the masquerade being cancelled and Penny said they were looking to change it to something different. Call it what you will, it's either the masquerade or it's not...

As to declining attendance and entries, even so the entire con has been on the decline, neutering a prime event isn't exactly the best way to be more prolific IMHO. But hey, I'm retired and just a customer who really enjoyed returning again for a weekend after an absence :P
