Yeah, if it were something like Bakugan or whatever else the young'uns are into these days... At least that would make a bit more sense. I think a Fruits Basket event at a big bookstore (like Borders) would be cool, though.
Nope. It never aired on TV, so they never had to edit it for content. It was just a mildly popular shojo series, not really intended for kids at all. I mean, it wouldn't have been inappropriate for kids... But it probably would've bored them to death. XD
I dunno...I'm not a kid, and I still enjoy watching it over and over again. It's the first thing my wee nieces ask to watch when they come visit me. However, the anime ends around vol. 9, so a lot of the darker stuff isn't there, and Shigure's character is kinda sanitized.
I'm not a kid, either - and Fruits Basket is one of my absolute favorite anime series!
Did you misunderstand what I was saying? D:
I was just a bit confused as to why Macy's was promoting a series created for the teen demographic in their kids department. I mean, kid-friendly content aside, most American kids have probably never even heard of it...
Maybe they're trying to cultivate a new generation of fans? I know I read stuff way above my head at that age... But I think it's more about finding something relatively kid-friendly for Asian Pacific Heritage Month.
