Yeah, it's 2006, Miguel. Update your rulebook. Women have been asking men out for decades. Try to get her a small gift. It's not necessary. It's just nice, especially since it's a first date. And it doesn't have to be stereotypical, like flowers or anything. Just a cute little trinket. My mom still has the little doll my dad got her on their first date. :-)

Oh good...at least I am not the only one who has been in this kind of situation. But my date was so awesome tonight. It was candlelight and all. To be honest...I have never laughed so hard in my life...it was one of the best moments in my life. Happy doesn't even begin to describe how I am feeling.

...Some things just never get old. :)

I know Diana, I'm pitiful. Just goes to show how I am dangerously lacking when it comes to dating. But I know I'll pick up some cool pointers for yah. A gift is a pretty cool idea, and I did buy her something today. I got her a chain with a butterfly on it. It wasn't to expensive, lol. Thanks for the idea.

And more importantly...thanks for being such a caring friend. I shall keep your words in mind, and I won't take that step with her until I know she means the words she tells me. :)

Yay! I'm so happy for you ^_^. And yes, women are allowed to ask you out on a date XP hey, it's a good sign! She's interested in you, and she knows you're interested in her. I'd say that's about as good as it can get for a guy ^_~.

*read diana -hopes that's her name-'s comment* A gift is always cute... May I suggest a flower? Yes, A, not plural. This one guy I dated for awhile, on our first date, he gave me a lily, an orangish one, and I wore it in my hair that night =).
And thennn for our one year, he gave me another lily, and it was white, it was cute.
I hope all goes well.
And, as for the guy asking the girl.. I never ask, haha. I'm always shy about that sort of stuff, so I normally wait for the guy. That way, I don't deal with rejection. Unless, he like hints and hints. Then I may ask.

Hey there. So sorry for the late reply. :(

But the date was perfect. We had candlelight and everything...I felt as though I was dreaming. And yes, I took your advice and I got her a nice flower. I got her a Bermudiana flower… it’s a creamy/purplish flower and there aren't many around. So I was lucky to get my hands on one. She even wore it in her hair before I suggested it, lol. So thank you for that tip...it was a big help. :)

But the lily you mentioned...didn't you have a user icon with a lily in your hair? I just remembered it...it’s been a while since I last saw that user picture.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Because I normally do not hear stories about a girl making the first move. And thanks for the luck...the date turned out just fine. I'll be sure to update about it tomorrow. :)
