In my opinion, the choice is obvious: go to the dinner party.

Missing a dinner party is going to have a heck of a lot more repercussions than missing a gaming party.

HOWEVER. You're not going to lose (and definately not LOOSE) a friend. Just say that your schedule's cramped, something's come up, etc., and don't go to whichever one you don't choose. It'll all work out.

If it was me (I've had this problem a few times) I go with the person I promised first unless you really don't like the first person. I usually just tell the other person "Sorry, I already promised so-and-so that I'd go to their party last week. Raincheck?"
But that's just me

Yeah that is another good way, but it looks likes like I'm going to the dinner party. But yes 90% of the time, I as well go with the person I promised first method. Thanks friend.

Just make the decision you feel is best, and what you'd enjoy the most. You might have a crap time at the dinner party, but you'll please the people who invited you if you go.
