Thank you for writing this. I've seen too many of my friends torn apart by it, and from being a foster care kid I can't even get into my own experiences yet. It's a larger problem than "not being there" and...again, thank you.
Oh shit. I didn't know about this, hell, I am from a generation that actually ahsn't watched Prince of Bel-Air, and this breaks me.
I simpliy cannot imagine the pain someone feels when a parent or parents simply...won't care. My parents have paid my huge-ass therapy bills, stood next to me when I was in a hospital after trying to kill myself, are actually willing to buy my flight tickets to NY ComicCon 2012 because it's a one thought that makes me smile and light up like I am alive...
I can't simply imagine the pain what Mr Smith and every child in a same situation has endure. I cannot think I would've survived it.
