I think your point about not engaging is valid. Dealing with an author throwing a fit because we don't like their precious is a pain in the ass.

I do think your point about a Black writer getting negative reviews from White people raises some issues regarding the struggles that historically marginalized people have with publishing. I think it is vastly important that as marginalized people we take the time to read and review the work of marginalized people. No one is going to support us but us.
