The Tyler Perry thing isn't new. He's been one of the top 5 earners for several years now. I thought he was the #1 earner for the past two years, not just this year. Maybe I'm misreading the article?

I still have yet to see a single episode of Dr. Who. I'm scared! I don't know where to start. I have a thing where I pretty much have to start watching a show from the beginning, but I've heard the first several seasons of Dr. Who are unwatchable. Halp!!!!

ETA: What does LXD stand for?

Oh but for many in white fandom, this is rage-inducing news. So yeah, I'm about to enjoy.

LXD: Legion of Extraordinary Dancers. One of the best series out.

(First posted in a wrong entry. Yes, I am that good. *eyeroll*)

I felt terrible because his name nor his picture said nothing to me. Or well, tingled something deep in my mind but I knew it was too vague to form anything.

I had to search him in wikipedia. *shame*

Then I realized why he was so familiar looking, he had a small role in Star Trek! (I am obsessed with that movie, and it got to me in Star Trek in general.) And that he produced Precious, which is a movie beyond awesomeness in my opinion.

The I started checking out his other works and I realized that none of the others I think have come in Finland. (there I throw a small hissy fit) So, it's not actually my fault that I don't know him, right? (*still full of shameful covering and curing herself...*)

While the media tries to downplay it, his movies have consistently been box office smashes here in the states.

I don't recommend buying anything from Tyler Perry.

See, I didn't really like Davies as a writer. He was overly sentimental and relied on the same old tricks to write the characters out of a situation. The last Tennant episode was complete torture. But the last series was just a bit of effort, and this one is even worse. I am only watching for some River Song action.

Liz 10 spin-off for the win!

Davies had his flaws, to put it mildly. And save for the roundup/farewell to the Children of Time in Tennant's last ep, that last ep was otherwise too campy. And the less said about the Time Lord Pricktorious, the better.

But one thing that I can say for Davies, he wasn't afraid to feature POCs and queer characters which is more than what I can say for this if you blink, you'll miss it, Nu regime.

Why anyone should flip out over the first article escapes me.

I never disliked Sally Sparrow, but nor did I get what, to apparently loads of people, set her apart from other one-story characters. What about Joan Redford? Jenny the clone? Nasreen? Vastra and not-Jenny-the-clone-Jenny? Sally makes the list, but not Vastra and Jenny?*

The season so far has been up and down in terms of quality, but I actually thought The Girl Who Waited was one of the strongest stories this year.

*Actually, I'd prefer them to be the next companions. Couples in the TARDIS can be 11's thing.

I think what sets Sally Sparrow apart is that Blink was told from her perspective and the episode came across like a potential backdoor pilot for her to get her own series. And to be fair, Blink is one of the best eps of Nu-Who so it's little wonder that the main protagonist would be listed.

Joan Redford, I wasn't feeling.

But I definitely agree with the other characters mentioned. If this was a top 10 list, I would definitely concur that Nasreen, Jenny and Vastra should be included. In fact, that leaves the question of who would round out the other two. Maybe Luke, who let's be honest, is for all intents and purposes, Ten's kid.
