So in honor of the True Blood season finale, I thought I'd share one of the reasons why I love True Blood. And it's not just for the eye candy. Though that's always delicious.
Before I dig myself a deeper hole could that comment be clarified? I mean I don't watch True Blood, so I'm not sure what this comment refers to. I figure before I respond that I should know as sounding like I know nothing about what I'm talking about is not a thing I like to do.

It's possible but I think it might be a mixture of that and their backgrounds. Tara comes from an abusive home with an alcoholic for a mother. She's working class/impoverished. Lafayette is gay black man in the rural south who works as a cook/drug dealer/and did adult videos just to make ends meet. Being women and/or queers of color, I think that pragmatism just comes from tools of necessity to survive in a world ripe with classism/racism/misogyny/homophobia.
And this is before the shenangians that Bon Temps brings.
I do have to cheer both of them repeatedly when they deal repeatedly with the seer foolishness of the people around them. They constantly point out BASIC COMMON SENSE and no-one listens to them!
Especially since both of them are constant victims and they have to know they can rely on no-one in Bon Temps to give a damn whether they live or die
