Who: L (justice_be_done) & The Medicine Seller (apatheticary) Where: A hotel room in Elysium When: Evening; to date Summary: L receives an unexpected visitor Rating: PG-13 Other: N/A
A voice, likely unwelcome, and without a doubt unexpected, speaking from behind and a little to the right of the detective, followed by the sound of a heavy wooden box being placed on the floor.
The medicine seller laid his hand atop it, pausing mid-sentence to cast a look around the room. Devoid of anyone save the two of them, but he knew security was close by. He had, after all, just evaded them although no human should have been capable of doing such.
Sea-blue eyes returned to L's back and he continued, "...but perhaps between the two of us, we may arrange a clear picture."
"Then," the medicine seller replied, "you are certainly familiar with the two targets I am currently following. First there is the matter of the human remains being left in boxes. Then there is also the case of the missing children and the linked murder-suicides.
"I wonder... if the greatest living detective could possibly have insight which the police lack regarding those cases?"
"Considering the behaviors displayed by the culprits," the medicine seller replied with a smirk, leaning forward just a touch, "I doubt that, if I were working with either of them, we would be having this conversation. Further, I doubt whether you would maintain your title of greatest living detective."
But the medicine seller made no move to relieve L of that title. He remained still, looking anything but threatening (and really somewhat bored).

How do I know you are not working with either of the culprits in question?"
