Lelouch gave the two children a lingering look as he crossed towards the sleeping man who matched the pictures. It was a quiet, lovely morning and he could use some time to order his thoughts. It was only natural for him to just sit down on the grass by the man's side and watch the boys go about their endless war and peace.

He knew that the man would wake up eventually.

After only a few minutes, Ace murmured something and sat up, eyes half lidded. The boys were further away now and he frowned at that - there was something in their playing that reminded him of that memory he had had a few weeks ago.

But the thought was lost as Portgas' sleepy eyes caught sight of a man to his left. He didn't bother turning his head; instead, he just forced his hat up a bit.

"Mr. Lelouch, I'm guessing.."

Lelouch nodded, his eyes still on the children.

"Mr. Ace, I presume."

He took a picture out of his jacket's pocket and shook his head with a bitter smile.

"I don't think I've ever seen a little girl with wings before. Are you sure that's what you want?"

Ace's eyes traveled down to the photograph and his lips turned upside down. He grimaced slightly, but took it gently into his fingers.

"What do you mean are you sure that's what I want? Why are you showing me this?" Portgas' eyes flickered dangerously. "I don't want Nill taken away from me, if that's what you're asking."
