Shika had expected travel to go a lot worse. The danger of encountering Abyss residents aside, he anticipated security on the Abyss-Terra border to be a lot heavier. People were running around the city without proper identification, after all. But it seemed the government hadn't gotten wind of the situation yet, and Shika's Terra number and police ID were plenty to get Shikamaru and Temari on the train with him.
The journey was uncomfortable to say the least, and Shika was glad when they were finally climbing the steps to the apartment he shared with Yosuke and Nill. Was this the best idea, bringing them here? It wasn't what Shika would've done, leading potentially dangerous strangers to his closest friends, but it was what Itachi had asked him to do. He'd have to trust in his sensei.
He cast a glance at the pair behind him as he unlocked the door. His eyes weren't threatening but they were serious. This was basically his family waiting for him in the apartment. If these two did anything to hurt them...
"I'm home," he called out as he pushed the door open. "And we've got company."
