A pointless search, some might call this -- but still, but still. As the days went by, fragments of his lost memories continued to trickle into his life, but none of them fit together, like a handful of puzzle pieces that refused to click together. What Nagi needed was the larger picture, some hint to what exactly it was that he'd forgotten -- several months' worth of time that had led to his death, which he had absolutely no memory of. But judging by all these people who recognized him, knew him, spoke of things that he didn't know of -- it was important ( ... )

Maybe when she gets home, after taking a shower to de-taint, she’ll be able to engage in something genteel to counteract tonight’s activity. That is if anyone is still awake. It was fairly late, and surely anyone residing in the palace would be sleeping by now. No point in putting on a face to impress no one that is there. Before her mind can ponder further regarding possible tasks her thoughts and steps forward cease. Someone had spotted her. There was no proper response as the figure moved closer, though Nagi did back off a half-step in order to maintain a polite distance between them. And his expression -- from what could be seen past the scarf -- remained blank and impassive. These people were dead, and that was that. Nothing more could be done for them, so why bother?) A quizzical glance and a raise of the eyebrow at the threat -- and Nagi wondered if he should perhaps ready himself for a fight? -- probably not, as this hooded stranger didn't seem to be wanting a fight just yet, but still, perhaps just for safety's sake.

A hand moved up to tug at the folds of his scarf uneasily, and Nagi gave a small quizzical tilt of the head. "I'm afraid that where I'm going can be accessed most quickly down this way -- would passing by you and those ( ... )

There was no hesitation when she responded. “It is all right to pass. Just take care in keeping the bodies exactly as they are. That’s all I ask.” There was no need to get into any other fights. Besides, it being this late at night, the Princess was rather tired. Too tired to care, too tired to put up a decent fight without drawing too much attention. And it was the Abyss - who knows what kind of tricks this individual would be able to execute, if any. Couldn’t be too careful. Her co-workers have shown her that so far ( ... )
