In the best of times, Turpin found descending to Terra aggravating and needless, a waste of time, energy, and money. Today was no different. But he had a reason to visit the common crowds today - one that had his blood pumping as he boarded the private line to the lower level. Pity his conversation had been interrupted, though. He grimaced a bit, at that thought. It was his own fault, really, he ought to have screened the conversation as soon as it had turned to matter of a bluer nature.

Still, he'd made a decent cover story, or so he thought, and if one Terra brat wanted to blow things out of proportion... Not that he was, but he didn't have to know that. Turpin knew well how to play the part of injured innocence; it was a role he'd seen played countless times in the court, and sometimes it worked. If it didn't, surely that brat wouldn't say no to a little monetary reward for keeping his mouth shut. And if that failed... well, Turpin had plenty of friends on the police force, and they weren't all upright and honest citizens ( ... )

The girl's appearance took him by surprise; he'd been expecting someone younger, to be honest, and he certainly hadn't been expecting an albino. Exotic, that, and not entirely to his taste.

Still, he smiled at the girl, and waved slightly. "Please, call me Julius, child." What to do with her? Certainly he could take her to Elysium and show her the courthouse, as he'd promised, or he could find some secluded corner here in Terra and then leave her after having his fill...

But the boy on the computer troubled him. That was a mistake, a coverup he would have to concoct, and it served him right for not thinking, for not screening his comments to Shiro sooner. Damn. Perhaps he'd best take the girl to the proper authorities, just in case. And it would make a nice bit of human interest for his blog... And besides, albino? Too exotic for his tastes. Which was a pity - the girl seemed almost perfect in every other respect. Young, naive, just a bit stupid...

"Julius? Julius!" She nodded before deftly swinging over the railing so she was right-side up again, amicable smile never leaving her face. (Was this girl really seventeen...) Grinning vacantly, she hopped to her feet and peered curiously at his face - he was interesting. Different than the usual sort she saw on a daily basis. "Nice to meet you! Shiro didn't get to bring snack for friend this time, but next time, she promises!"
