I like it a lot. I can't say much more than that because I'd need to read more. It's an interesting beginning. You've already hooked me.

Chapter 2 took forever to write :). It's done though, just needs to be beta'd. Some day soon I'll get around to starting chapter 3 :). I'm glad you're hooked. The first chapter was really hard to write. It was definitely not in this form originally.

Very interesting beginning! Sounds really promising so far imo. I adore any attempt at canon-friendly (and even more at characterization-friendly!) and the addition of slash feeds my fangirly cravings ^_^

Parts I liked most:
- flashback of Snape's visit at Hogwarts and coming to work for Albus - I know it's a rather established fanon-wisdom that he went sobbing, utterly devastated and penitent throwing himself at AD's mercy but quite frankly I could never see that . To me your approach seems much more IC and realistic. The flashbacks in general were well done blended seamlessly with the present happenings ( ... )

Well it's not like I'm friends picky. All you do is ask and you're in :). Aren't I nice?

Thanks for mentioning what you like. I really think this is different from the fanfics that have been popping up like crazy post-HBP. That said... I haven't read any of them, just the summaries and maybe the first few lines and they just don't appeal to me. Probably what I want is written in this 'fic :).

I don't think anyone's ever plagiarized me... but I appreciate the vow.

My betas loved the last line too. Very Snape, don't you think? And emotional!yet-not-quite-good Draco is good too. Did I mention I adore ambiguous Snape?

You are ^_~ The "vow" (thankfully less dangerous than Snape's unbreakable one) was in response to your friends-post mentioning your stuff landed in strange places.

Yes, that fabulous last line was quintessential Snape. And everyone should adore ambigous!Snape, it's only good taste *nods* This "insert whatever you want trait"!charactername is really addicting. Your !Draco-description is half a drabble in itself ^_^

Looking already forward to the next installment of your tale!

Thanks :). Waiting for beta and well... I need to start 3 before I can release 2. But quintessential Snape is effing hard to write. Though keeping Harry... Harry isn't easy either. But definitely Snape being Snape is hard. Draco is sometimes a tad easier, but man did he get development in HBP.

Oh, you YOU! More Snarry! I could KISS YOU! Fantastic. You are at school now? Cool. I really loved the interraction between Snape and Voldemort. I love his ambiguity and yet I feel very positive of his loyalties. And that ending! Draco will learn from his mistakes, yes?

Great start, Nenya. Oh, and Friday will be back to you by then. [/secret code].

Cheers!

Unfortunately, yes I am at school. LOL, nice secret code.

*winks at djin7* Your icon's cute by the way.

It's been a challenge to write a post-canonical fic and hence the boring title "Book Seven" b/c um... that's what it is on my harddrive. The original "Harry Potter and blah..." I don't think works for this. As for Draco, that's a secret.

I don't know about anybody else, but I am looking forward to more of this story. As always, you have crafted a richly-detailed plot -- only hinted at as yet, of course.

One question: is "A Snake's Loyalty" the fic title, or the chapter title? *is easily confused*

Well it's the chapter title, the series title is "Book Seven". Every chapter will be pretty much feel like self-composed. But thanks. The story was hard to write and of course, original fiction is even harder. Took long enough to get this out :).
