Hello. Yes, this time I, Miss Kitty, will be the one narrating the events in the bizarre family who adopted me.

I'm sure you're all familiar with the head of the family, Loch, by now. He is a rather fun pet to have.

And an affectionate one as well.

His litter is also well-behaved and is able to keep themselves occupied.

It helps that their parents are able to train them, saving me the trouble of having to do so myself.

And they help when it's time to go to bed. Yes, I couldn't ask for better-behaved humans.

Well, they can be a little noisy sometimes.
"Someone let me OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUT!"

"Wait, they're not here, are they? Then, maybe I could..."

"There. Eheh. Let's just hope they won't get suspicious, otherwise they'll start getting ideas of my being self-sufficient enough to start doing things."
The youngest, Awesome, is a girl out of my own heart, as you can see.

Anyway, my narrative begins on a Sunday. Naenae, the adult female, left for work...

...and Loch stayed home entertaining the cubs.

As you can see, they're naturally playful and so easy to entertain...

...which allowed Loch to dedicate some time to the task of training Awesome in the art of meowing on command.
"Now, sweetheart, say 'teddy'."
"Can you be more specific, Father? I mean, if we are to be talking about any member of the ursidae family, I'd like to know if you mean a Tremarctos ornatus, a Arctotherium latidens, a Ursus arctos horribilis, or even..."

And it's good to know that the eldest cubs are also interested in spending some time with the girl.
"Where's Dizzy, Awesome? Where's Dizzy?"

"There's Dizzy!"
"Aha. That is amusing, brother of mine. Puerile, but amusing."

"Let's do it again. Where's Dizzy, Awesome?"
"Oh, for goodness' sake. You're right over there, you silly boy!"

"I better humour him. Let me hide my face as well..."

"Now, wasn't that fun, sis?"
"All right, I admit it was."

Eventually, Naenae came back with a promotion...

...which allowed the family to purchase some new pet toys.

Of course, my tastes are much simpler and cheaper. All I need is a feather duster...

...and a bowl of delicious cat food, and I'm set for the day.

Their food, on the other hand, takes ages to prepare...

...and, in order to eat it, they need to do some socializing rituals.

Except for Awesome, of course, who is much less complicated than the average human.

"Whee! This is fun!"

"Hmmm, delicious!"

"Quick, fun, and nutritious. My compliments to the chef."
I just wish they'd get the girl her own bowl.

Another thing they should take into consideration would be to start using a litter box.
"Razzafrazzing kids clogging the razzafrazzing toilet..."

The adults can sometimes be a bit worrying. I mean, they seem to be trying to mate with each other at all times, in a sort of ritual they call "dating".

I'm seriously considering neutering Ness. A household with six humans is quite enough for me, thank you.

But then I start wondering if a new litter would mean more adorable cubs like my personal favourite.
"Come on, Awesome. Shimiton baloonbox..."
"Could you leave the singing to some other occasion, Father? I have this irresistible urge to suck my thumb and I feel such a task should take priority."

"Yes, Father, the temperature of the water is perfect - but could you perhaps add some eucalyptus essential oil next time? I have heard it does wonders to the skin."

"Come on, sweetie. Let's get you potty-trained."
"This is quite vexing."

"Lunch time!"
"Ooh, cow milk. My very favourite."

As for the boys, their weekdays are being dedicated to studies.
"Another day, another A+. I rock."

"Aw, man, a B+? This sucks."

"How can I convince Millie Hopkins I'm good enough to pull her pigtails if I don't get As?"

The evenings, of course, mean the whole family is home. Naenae would dedicate her time gaining some skills to earn more promotions...

...while the cubs entertained themselves.

After feeling she had trained enough, Naenae would then have a chat with Loch's tomatoes, in an attempt to make them healthier...

...followed by some more of that dating thing they do.

"Rowr. You know what I'm in the mood for?"

I think she does.

After that was accomplished, they quickly returned to a less "reproductive" mode for the rest of the evening.

The next morning, their routine resumed. The cubs woke up...

...enjoyed some quality time with their parents...

...and then those with occupations outside the household left to fulfil them.

Loch would then dedicate his time playing with insects as if he was a cat and not an irrational pet.
"Let's see if I can get you this time, my pretties..."

"Finally!"

"Okay, now that I finally reached my purpose, you are free to go. Fly away, little butterflies!"

But all this playing doesn't mean he avoids his obligations.
"Why does this have to be so boring?"
Oh, suck it up.

But this particular day marks something a little more important than bug catching and potty-training. Well, more important than potty-training, anyway. You see, I was leaving my bed when I started to feel a tingling sensation, and before I knew it...

...I had reached adulthood.

That's right. I, Miss Kitty, am a majestic and beautiful orange tabby. All shall love me and despair.

"Aww, my widdle kiddy is all gwown up!"

Well, all shall love me and murder the English language while trying to squeeze me to death, anyway.

Ahh, that's better.

Oh yeah, and the twins finally got their As.

"Hello. You're not one of mine, are you?"

"No, sir. I'm a friend of Happy's."
"Oh, good. For a moment, I thought I had lost count."

Speaking of Happy...

...he was feeling... well, happy.
"Whoo! I love this song!"

"You two are nuts."
"Shut up and join us, Bright. You know you want to."

Another important event that day was Awesome's birthday. Like me, she was about to become a bit bigger.

She lacks that feline charm I possess, but we can't have it all.

And, after some slight work in her fur, she decided to join the festive mood of the entire household.

"Hey, Happy was right. This song is amazing!"

And she was able to persuade Bright to join in in a much more successful way than Happy before her.

My pets. Aren't they precious?

Anyway, now that their youngest is too big to fit in the crib, Naenae used her most recent paycheck to turn the nursery into a bedroom for the four cubs. They will no longer need to sleep in the corridor.

And that's all for now. If you'll excuse me, Happy is determined to teach me to speak, and I feel I must oblige his whim. Until next time, dear readers.
