Writer's Block: What happened to you today?

I got this review for an Oedipus Tyrannus fic.

"Im sorry but i think it sux that you didnt use the same language style andtechniques as Sophocles"

And replied thusly.

"I'm sorry, but I think it sucks that you criticise me for not choosing to or being able to imitate the style of one of history's greatest dramatists when you can't even refrain ( Read more... )

It was indeed the dear Owen! I also met Amelia Bell, who asked after you when she heard I went to Royal Holloway. Owen and I are friends on Facebook now, so you can add him from there and get back in touch. =D Owen's awesome. Anyone else I might have encountered? Just found that Harry Ford knows one of my friends (ish) from Challoner's at Oxford. DAMN but the Classics world is a small one.

Surely in order to use the same language style and techniques - you'd have to be writing in ancient Greek. And (memory fails here) hexameter verse? Some people are stupid :P

I'm reading Alice in Wonderland! I found this great annotated version with all these great notes about how it was written, where the references go, etc.
