Something to flail about~

Feb 24, 2010 15:53

I can't believe that I really got addicted to Kamen Rider and I wanted to share my story to everyone!

Ever since I was young, I've been here. Kamen Rider Black, the first Kamen Rider Series that was aired here in the Philippines. Together with my friends and brother, we watch it though we haven't completed the whole series. Then some time after Masked Riderwas aired, the American Version of Kamen Rider Black RX wherein we enjoyed a lot alongside with the story of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Though I can't remember everything about them already, I still happened to give them credits for these.

In Japan, Kamen Rider Black is the 8th among the nineteen Kamen Rider Series. It was aired from 1987 to 1988 and has 51 episodes. On the other hand, Kamen Rider Black RX is the 9th and last Kamen Rider Series in the Showa Era. It ran from 1988 to 1989 for 47 episodes. It is also a sequel to Kamen Rider Black.

Meanwhile, the American adaptation of RX is the first Kamen Rider to be "Americanized" was aired in America through Fox Kids from 1995 to 1996 by Saban and Levi.

The next Kamen Rider Series had taken years to be aired. Though it's not really the series next to RX, they still have it. This Kamen Rider is Kamen Rider Ryuki. During the time it was aired in the Philippines, I was so much into anime that's why I didn't give it much attention. And I can't really remember the year when it was aired in ABS-CBN 2.

In Japan, Kamen Rider Ryuki is the 3rd Kamen Rider Series during the Heisei Era annd is the 12th Kamen Rider Series in history. This was aired from 2002 to 2003 for 50 episodes. This series got the first spot to have the first female Kamen Rider, Kamen Rider Femme. It is also the second Kamen Rider Series to be "Americanized" as Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight that ran from January 3rd to December 26, 2009 in America. Although the series was "Americanized" the name Kamen Rider was retained.

The next Kamen Rider aired in the Philippines is Kamen Rider 555. It was aired in GMA 7 not long after Ryuki was aired in ABS-CBN 2. With the same excuse, I really didn't paid any attention to it. Added to that, Faiz was aired at 8:30 AM in the moring every Saturdays and Sundays only. Unlike in Ryuki, it was aired on weekdays at 4:00 PM.

In Japan, Kamen Rider 555 is the next series right after Ryuki that aired from 2003 to 2004 for 50 episodes. It is the 4th Kamen Rider series in the Heisei Era.

The next one that was aired is Kamen Rider Blade. At first, it was aired in GMA 7 right after Faiz on the same time slot but aome time after, it was reaired in TV 5 (the former ABC 5) on weekdays at 6:00 PM and a week-episode replay every Saturday at 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM. When it was aired in GMA, I didn't give much attention to it again but when it was reaired to TV 5, I got the interest to watch it on a marathon every Saturday since I have afternoon to evening classes in the university. In Blade, I had developed a crush on Aikawa Hajime's character (Kamen Rider Chalice) and of course, to the main character Kenzaki Kazuma (Blade). Kenzaki was protrayed by Tsubaki Takayuki, while Hajime was portrayed by Morimoto Ryoji.

In Japan, Kamen Rider Blade is the 5th series of Kamen Rider in the Heisei Era. It aired from 2004 to 2005 with 49 episode. The second to be considered female Kamen Rider was introduced in this series under the name of Kamen Rider Larc. The first Rider to use cards.

The sixth Kamen Rider Series that was aired in the Philippines through TV 5 was Kamen Rider Hibiki right after Blade had ended. This series got my attention because of its ongeki theme. I wasn't able to watch every episodes but I had tried to watch the marathon replay of it every Saturday. I had also developed a crush on Ibuki who was portrayed by Shibue Jouji. Indeed, Hibiki is very good though the storyline seems to be messed up because of the characters.

In Japan, Kamen Rider Hibiki was aired from 2005 to 2006, the 6th Kamen Rider Series of the Heisei Era with 48 episodes. This series is not supposed to be a Kamen Rider series but a Kamen Rider-like with musical theme. Hibiki had gone through several changes due to the change  of staff but then, the series still ended with success. The third official Kamen Rider, Kamen Rider Shuki, was introduced here though she died not long after her few episodes appearances.

The next one and currently airing in Cartoon Network is Kamen Rider Kabuto. I can't say much about it bacause I began to watch it half-way to the end. We don't have cable connection so I haven't watched it in CN. I were able to watch it because my brother had downloaded full episodes of it with subtitles. As I had said a while ago, I can't say much only that Tendou Souji (Mizushima Hiro) is so handsome and Kamishiro Tsurugi (Yamamoto Yuusuke) was so funny.

In Japan, Kamen Rider Kabuto aired from 2006 to 2007 with 49 episodes. It is the 7th Kamen Rider Series of the Heisei Era.

The next Kamen Rider to be aired in the Philippines and the 8th Kamen Rider Series of the Heisei Era, Kamen Rider Den-O. This series was aired from 2007 to 2008 with 49 episodes with Sato Takeru as the main character Nogami Ryoutarou/Kamen Rider Den-O, supported by Shiratori Yuriko as Hana then later Matsumoto Tamaki as Kohana, Akiyama Rina as Naomi, Ishimaru Kenjiro as Owner/Opening Narration/Station Master, Matsumoto Wakana as Nogami Airi and Nakamaru Yuichi as Sakurai Yuuto with Sakurada Dori as Nogami Kotaro (movie). It is said that Den-O is the series that has the most number of movies filmed. It has four major movies to date and soon to release a trilogy for the Chou Den-O Series. Other than that, Den-O had also become a part of Crayon Shin-chan in Crayon Shin-chan Midsummer Night: Here I Come! The Storm is Called Den-O vs. Shin-O 60 Minute Special!! Aside from that, a manga of it had been featured in the magazine Shogaku Ichinensei and an anime OVA, Imagin Anime. I really enjoyed Den-O a lot that made it my most favorite Kamen Rider Series ever! I had watched it even before Blade, Hibiki and Kabuto since I was in the midst of my Prince of Tennis Musicals fandom that time. I watched it along with Jyuken Sentai Gekiranger. Up until now, it has been my favorite. Not only that I like the cast, but also, I enjoyed most of the episodes. I love the Imagins especially Ryuutaros and Deneb! Added to the items above, Ryuuta's voice actor Suzumura Kenichi really helped in making Den-O to success (though they are so many). Aside from that, Den-O is the only Rider who has his own train, the one who could travel to time and the one who got possessed by four Imagins, Momotaros (Seki Toshihiko), Urashimataros (Yusa Koji), Kintaros (Terasoma Masaki) and Ryuutaros (Suzumura Kenichi) plus Deneb (Otsuka Hochu) Sieg (Miki Shin-ichiro) and Teddy (Ono Daisuke - movie). Den-O is actually the first Kamen Rider that brought me into my fan mode!

The next is Kamen Rider Kiva, the 9th Kamen Rider Series which aired from 2008 to 2009 with 48 episodes. At first it is difficult to understand because the story revolves in two timelines, 2008 and 1986 to which every events were connected. As what others say, Kiva looks somewhat like a horror film because of the creepy beginning of the first episode but then, the story line was great and full of mysteries. Though there are some episodes which are boring, Kiva gives thrill to its viewers! Kiva was starred by Seto Koji as Kurenai Wataru/Kamen Rider Kiva, Kato Keisuke as Nago Keisuke/Kamen Rider IXA, Yangisawa Nana as Asou Megumi, Kumai Kouhei as Eritate Kengo, Koike Rina as Nomura Shizuka, Yamamoto Shouma as Nobori Taiga/Kamen Rider Saga/Kamen Rider Rei(movie), Haga Yuria as Suzuki Mio and Ishida Akira (voice) as Tatsulot for the 2008 side. On the 1986 side, Takeda Kouhei acted as Kurenai Otoya/Kamen Rider IXA/Kamen Rider Dark Kiva, Takahashi Yu as Asou Yuri and Niiro Shinya as King. They were also supported by Kanayama Kazuhiko as Shima Mamoru, Kinoshita Houka as Kido Akira, Matsuda Kenji as Jiro, Ogoe Yuuki as Ramon, Takigawa Eiji as Riki, Kagami Saki as Maya and Sugita Tomokazu (voice) as Kivat the 3rd.

Kamen Rider Decade came next as the 10th Kamen Rider of the Heisei Era that aired from January 25th to August 30, 2009 with 31 episodes. It might be short but it has two movies to which the first one is considered as the epilogue of the series itself, Kamen Rider Decade The Movie: All Riders vs. Dai-Shocker to which everyone could be a witness on the team-up of all Riders from the very first Kamen Rider of the Showa Era. On its second movie, another official female Rider was introduced, Kamen Rider Kivaara. DCD's story revolves around different worlds of Riders from Kuuga, the first Heisei Kamen Rider to Decade itself though on its first movie, the 11th Kamen Rider was introduced. Decade was starred by Inoue Masahiro as Kadoya Tsukasa/Kamen Rider Decade, Totani Kimito as Kaitou Daiki, Murai Ryota as Onodera Yuusuke/Kamen Rider Kuuga, Mori Kanna as Hikari Natsumi/Kamen Rider Kivaara, Ishibashi Renji as Hikari Eijiro, Okuda Tatsuhito as Narutaki and Sawashiro Miyuki (voice) as Kivaara.

The latest Kamen Rider is Kamen Rider Double/W. It is currently airing since September 6, 2009 with 23 episodes as of last Sunday, February 21, 2010. This is the 11th Kamen Rider Series of the Heisei Era and debuted its appearance on a Decade movie. Kamen Rider W is the Kamen Rider to I which I assure all KR fangirls will flail over. Every time I watch every episodes of this series, I can't stop flailing over the main characters because they are really cool. Although I flail often to W, still Den-O is my number one! W has a genre of mystery and every mystery is connected to one another through the use of GaiaMemories for vengeance and hatred. What really made W really different to any other Riders because W is the only Rider who is a product of transformation of two people. It is really a great TV debut to the 17-year old Suda Masaki who act as Philip, the other half of W and was known as the Earth's chosen child for every knowledge above the Earth are inside his mind. Not only that it is really cool to be a Kamen Rider for Masaki, but also it is his very first project as an actor. On the other hand, 25-year old stage paly actor Kiriyama Renn portrayed W's other half, Hidari Shoutaro, a "half-boiled" detective, who solves the mysteries around Fuuto City. Not only that Shoutaro could be the body of W, but also Philip. When W is in its CycloneJoker, HeatMetal, LunaTrigger forms or any other combination, Shoutaro acts as the body. Meanwhile, for Philip to act as the body, they will transform to another form which is the FangJoker.

Actually, W is really something to flail about! Every week, the actors themselves had improved their acting skills which made every episodes reach the top. On the latest episode, 23, I flailed so much when I heard the blending of their voices because there's a scene to which they sang duet. Masaki is best known in his dancing skills. It is indeed a must watch Kamen Rider!

The cast who made Kamen Rider to success are Kiriyama Renn as Hidari Shoutaro/Kamen Rider W (left), Suda Masaki as Philip/Kamen Rider w (right), Yamamoto Hikaru as Narumi Akiko, Kinomoto Minehiro as Terui Ryuu, Nadagi Takeshi as Mikio Jinno, Nakagawa Shingo as Makura Shun, Nasubi as Watcherman, Fukkin Zennosuke as Santa-chan, Itano Tomomi of AKB48 as Queen, Kasai Tomomi of AKB48 as Elizabeth, Terada Minori as Sonozaki Ryubee/Terror Dopant, Namai Ami as Sonozaki Saeko/Taboo Dopant, Asuka Rin as Sonozaki Wakana/Clay Doll Dopant, Kimisawa Yuki as Sonozaki Kirihiko/Nazca Dopant, Takato Yasuhiro (voice) as Smilodon Dopant, Dan Tomoyuki as Isaka Shinkuro and Kouda Naoko (voice) as Shroud.

I haven't watched all Kamen Riders just yet. These are the only series that I am familiar with to which I could share to everyone. I'm sorry for I not incluing the cast of the first ones. I just lack interest with them. From Den-O, I had watched them through downloads. I had finished watching Den-O and Kiva (I think) before I got a chance to watch Blade and Hibiki. For the knowledge of all, I'm really very much onto Den-O and W. Those are my favorites and I don't want to miss any episodes! I had said too much about W because it's the one we're watching. Hope that I got you interested to our world!

I am a proud

KAMEN RIDER FANGIRL!!!
