"There's only three real monsters, kid; Dracula, Blacula, and Son of Kong"

So I watch a lot of movies. And this year I started keeping a journal in which I list every movie I watch, in what format (ie theater, DVD, TV, etc), on what date, and if I had seen it before. I thought it could be a fun idea for a year-end post to list every movie I've seen in 2008 (I'll leave out the other stuff though). Most were watched on ( Read more... )

Sweet merciful heavens! What a list. You should calculate out how many hours/days/weeks of movie watching made up your year, and other such tallies.

I don't know if you mentioned that you've been keeping track of what you've watched. Just before college ended I finally started keeping track of everything that I read, although I only signify which month I read them in and in what order, and then take some notes on them. In truth I'd been planning on doing that for years. Do you do that too?

Once we have stamps in this house or I venture out to the post office, I will be sending you something! Happy New Year. Keep up the e-mails. Comments in Livejournal are no replacement for such an exchange, although I feel compelled to leave messages here sometimes.

150 movies per year = slightly less than three a week. Let us assume an average movie is 105 minutes.
So (150 * 105) / (52 * 7 * 24 * 60) = 15750 / 524160 = 0.0304... = ~3% of my time. That was a fun math adventure! But the percentage is so low it does not feel incredibly worth it?

I don't keep track of the things I read since (even though I claim a love of libraries) I own pretty much everything I read. And if I look at my books I can tell which ones I have and have not read.

And hooray for sending me something! I have a bunch of things for you but I am hoping to be able to give them to you in person. If no road trip plans formulate soon though I guess I'll send them to you?

And yes, you will get more emails soonlyish!

That is an impressive list with an interesting range of movies. Monsters HD does sounds like an amazing channel.
