it wasn't YOUR fault, it's me. I am a little slow, so I just kind of nod along.

Ah! That is exactly the same technique I use for resizing icons and I always feel like a freak, because no one has ever mentioned it before.

I like your finished product, very interesting textures.

While I didn't follow it to the letter, I was very pleased with the result of my icon. That's what I love about tutorials and my inability to follow them, I get halfway through and decide what I've done by accident is actually pretty cool.

Thanks for posting this - and the texture link, I'll be running amok with that soon.

(this is the icon I made by starting with your tutorial and messing up!)

By the way, you like Never Mind The Buzzcocks and thus you are cool (is a crazy userinfo reader).

I love Buzzcocks, I've seen it live twice. I also have a website about it, which I haven't updated since... forever.
