So difficult NOT to become hard at times. I've been bitter and cynical in the past, but it doesn't last forever.

It comes and goes with me. I consider myself an optimistic nihilist most days--we're all going to die, and likely in pain, but there's nothing saying we can't smile at flowers along the way.

But then, I'm deeply weird at the best of times. :D

When gypsy and I lived together, a lot of people thought we were married, including someone who later dated her. We were a lot like a married couple, but we had separate bedrooms. We were just really close friends.

*laughs at the rubber duckies of evil*

I think it's something to do with the comfort level. I've had friends who held me at arms' length, I've had friends who see nothing wrong with curling up in my lap. I've had onlookers swear the ones who curl up with me--or the ones I curl up with--are people who I'm also dating.

You don't have to sleep with someone to get that close. But I think that's the supposition.
