Is odd how I recently ran across someone talking about Eraserhead. Seems like a movie that I need to track down.

It's...not for everyone, I'll be honest. At times surreal, at other times psychotic, illustrating a world that is almost, but not entirely, unlike the one we live in, made abhorrent by the very things we recognize as tame and banal...David Lynch had a gift, even back then.

The French film Man Bites Dog should be on this list. Documentary crew follows a serial killer around. . .at some point they begin helping him. It starts with a simple "lift the feet, for me, would you?" (dumping a wrapped up corpse). When the main character ends up in a "one-up" murder contest with a rival serial killer with relatives as the victims, things get really interesting.
