Well, Mert only recommended him as a contact after interacting with him for most of a year, and I've got a pretty good idea how Mert thinks, so...IMO that counts for something.

I am pretty impressed with how unbiased the book is, I have to say. :)

Covers are often what sell a book, and the author doesn't always do - or even have a choice in - the cover art. So, it doesn't really surprise me what went on the cover.

The contents, though... Ever notice it's not very often I actually recommend a non-fiction? :)

And I am taking it in the spirit given, believe me; because I've read most of the rest, where the endless tales of spooky creepy stalker people or legends dry as dust reinforce each other.

Plus, there was that glimmer of comparative religion in there--that, in certain other cultures, this is known and accepted, and they don't call it vampirism--it's just, some people need energy, some don't. Now that I'd find fascinating to run down.
