Well, I give the shoes some slack, because--not on sand, on runway. Though really, stomp-walking really fast in those heels down a runway? Models have been known to wipe out harder than ice skaters. :)
Now, I do make exceptions for craft bags, WIP bags, whatever--but normal everyday I'm leaving the house purse? Why?
Granted, yeah, I usually carry purse and a totebag, the totebag having a notebook, some pens, extra batteries, the book I'm currently in, and on occasion hand sewing of one type or another--but that's it. My purse? Is pretty much my purse.
B'sides, I carry something that big? My hands go numb from the elbows down. :) Forget it.
Why? Because I tend to leave anything other than my purse... at the office, at a friends, etc. Two bags is one bag to many for me to remember.
So, my "I'm leaving the house purse" has to be big enough for everything. (This morning, it had the extra addition of two tins of tea! Why? Because when they were still in the grocery sack to take into work, they were left in the car...)

Let's see....
Hand quilting project....check.
Assorted paperwork/bills crammed in to "work on" later today"...check
A paperback, or two....check.
Digital camera tossed in, "just in case"...check.
Wallet/change purse/checkbook in cute little clutch...check.
Pain meds...check.
Bundle of fat quarters that got in there a few weeks ago and never made it out... umm.. check. (ok, gone now.)
Handful of assorted pens...check.
You know, when I first got my purse, I thought it was huge. Now, half the time, it's too damn small. I really could use something like that one.

Though I have been known to leave my overdrape places this way, because I'm programmed to search for bags, not shirts. ;)
