That is the saddest description of anything piratical I've ever heard or read. Crap. You do have me wondering what SPF muslin is, though. . . . Anyway, I hope your collective and individual recoveries are quick.

Well, I've edited it to give a slight bit more clarity to that statement, but you prompt me to mention RIT now has a Sun Guard dye on the market that (colorlessly) dyes fabric to protect you up to SPF 30.

So SPF muslin? Not too far away, once I get my hands on that stuph.

I'll be sure to note it in future entry. :) And yes, that means I got it!

What are the active ingredients in that Bullfrog SPF36 Sport Spray, do you still have the bottle or do you remember? Or, failing that, what did the bottle look like? (I can look for it here and add the descrip to my site's list)

Sorry that Sea Dogs was such a drag, I was really hoping it would BE a vacation instead of a workout. :(

Interesting that you asked this... nematoddity July 25 2006, 22:54:36 UTC
This is what the bottle looked like; actually, that's the exact type that I was handed. Contrary to description, it did leave a slightly greasy residue that lasted for hours, but I didn't mind, because that slightly greasy (and not WHITE OILY greasy, just transparent greasy) film kept the Evil Daystar from doing more damage.

And from Amazon, of all people, comes the ingredient list:

Active Ingredients: Octinoxate (7.5%), Octisalate (5%), Octocrylene (10%), Oxybenzone (6%). Inactive Ingredients: Acrylates/Octylacrylamide Copolymer, SD Alcohol 40 (69% W/W), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Fragrance, Isopropyl Myristate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate (235-86).

Wouldn't say it's the best stuph for the skin--and the woman who gave it to me recommended that I only spray on non-facial skin, that I should spray my hands and then rub it gently on my face--but it seems to work ( ... )

No, not at all, just that I should ask if you prefer to keep this private, in a series of emails, or not.

The biggest side effect for me was the short-term memory erasure, paired with the aphasia--of course, I was prescribed the dope-a-max for migraines, not for any significant neurological disorder. Part of the reason, I think, for the iron deficiency is that it makes animal protein taste strange, unbearably different, or--in my case--completely unpalateable. No protein in your system = anemia. It's a theory.

I'd recommend you read over the Crazymeds info page on Topamax--it's witty, and, more to the point, absolutely clear about the common and uncommon side effects. I highly recommend you read through it; it helped me understand a lot of the more irritating reactions I was getting to the drug (what do you mean I can't eat meat now? What do you mean sugar tastes like ass? I'm not happy with...oh, never mind, I've forgotten everything ( ... )

Actually, that makes sense to me, because beforehand, I was not a vegetarian. I was an omnivore tending to carnivore. I wanted meat that whimpered when I cut into it. Some days forget rare--I didn't so much want it more than warmedNow? I still can't process beef, chicken, and pork the way I used to, though I've had some success with (limited) amounts of tuna, bacon and bits of salami. We're still trying to figure that out, but uncured, unsalted meat? Not interested. I've worked up to being able to have beef broth, and I figure, I can stop here ( ... )
