to you and all your family, your neighbors and your friends

I've got David Cassidy wailing about snow on farms and fields in my head. It's getting painful.

This bit's mostly just for me:

LJ help at Cyncity
LJ for Dummies (I hate the name, but hey, it's accurate)
LJ Tips and Tricks

I wanted to get them out of my next entry textfile, essentially. :)

Well. Um. )

music, holiday, winter, quizzes, lj help communities, weirdness

Neat! Otherwise, there's a JoAnn's nearby...that I'll need to go to, depending, anyway. ;)

Hey, I'll have you know that I tried to pick out magnets with images for each person that I knew they would like-- without going back and looking at their interests-- and you were the hardest one of all. I am so happy that you like them!

Really? Because the little pink mushroom is enchanting. And normally, I consider pink part of the Axis of Evil.

On the other hand, I don't recall a ton of coffin-, bat- and skull-oriented stuph on your site, so yeah, you could be right. :)

Well, I had to put something different in case I was wrong about all the other stuff, right? And it is a shroom ;-)
But seriously, I forget how we friended, but when I friended you you were doing a lot of fashion stuff. And to me, Victoria Secret fashion shows are like the definition of stormy pinkness. And so as someone who knows you only through your journal, if I only read that part of it, with the pictures, I could think you were a vapid fashionista who only cared about designer clothes and was all about the pink and the barbie and the makeup and designer bags and stuff... even if you do snark on them.

Well, I'm still doing a lot of fashion stuph, we're just in the off-season. :)

This is the sad thing...one ofthe folks on my friendslist, aelora, is seriously addicting me to a Victoria's Secret model who apparently lives in pink. She picked this woman, somewhat out of the blue, two years ago or so, when she wanted a face to go with the image of the female Superman she was writing. (Instead of the battles between Clark and Lex, in her universe it's the battles between Hudson and Lex. It's really interesting.)

So...yeah, there's something to that, uncomfortable as it is, about the vapid fashionista-ness of it all. I may snark on them...but I can nearly tell at a glance who designed an outfit. It's so very sad.

Bubble lights!!! When I was a little kid a friend's family had them on their tree and I was completely hypnotized every time I went over to visit. :)

I think when we have a tree again I'll have to find a pickle and a bat. I like those ideas a lot.

There's a museum one town over called the Museum of the Oregon Territory. They have some fixed displays--it's a small museum--but the 'rotunda' area has changing displays depending on what they can find.

This year, they found a guy who's been collected Christmas ornaments and memorabilia for over forty-five years. So Cat and I, at the holiday party--since Bob's Red Mill books that building for their holiday parties--got to wander through the exhibits of what fifty years of Christmas stuph looks like, all in one place.

There must have been a dozen sets of bubble lights--some in boxes, some exposed, some with metal bases, some with green plastic. It was beyond cool

THANK YOU for sending me the "Everybody" file. That's so worth having. Even though I got confused, then had to download a .rar de-archiver to figure out how to see it. :)

Whoops. I should have used a .zip wrapper. I own a copy of WinRAR, so I tend to just let it automatically do it's thing...

Although, I found that for some files, the newish 7zip format is capable of compressing tighter than Rar, although it is a bit slower. Sorry, geeked out there... ;-)

Or something. :)
