About the being from an older country... don't they do that in mexico? And aren't they relatively the same age as the US? Do they get a candle discount? Coz that's totally not fair ;) I just think the people in the US are too lazy to uphold time honored traditions except for the ones that have candy... I mean, are commercialized. But that's just me. :D God I miss you guys.
Isn't the original Samhain similar to the dia del los muertos celebration? I read somewhere that the Celts ( my ancestors) used to invite the spirits of their dead ito their homes instead of trying to frighten them away. It seems like a much healthier way to deal with death.
You're right though, those Catholics would totally be into witch burning. I think their are people in the U.S. Congress that agree with them.
Tucson has an annual day of the dead parade. Its really cool.
